The last time I taught what a blog was it was: The word Blog comes from the words Web Log. It's a Web site that allows an individual, or group of individuals, to share a running log of events and personal insights with online audiences. In simple terms, a Blog is an online journal.
In Blogs, you can write articles for others to read and read articles posted by others. The articles in Blogs are called posts and each post gives you the opportunity to add comments and, sometimes, rate the post and e-mail it to another person.
The most important thing about a blog is that you ask for the reader's opinion and they give it to you in the form of comments... just like this note does. If you create a blog and you don't allow anyone to add comments then you defeat the purpose of two way communication. Why not just create a regular web page?
Obama is all for the people and education or so he says but in his website
http://www.change.gov his blog has no comment feature. He used a lot of new technology in his campaign like social networks, videos, podcast, and
texting which was one of the reasons he was able to reach the younger generation so he should know what a blog is or at least the people that work for him.
Don't call it a blog if you really don't want to hear what people have to say about your articles....
Doesn't education first start at home... then it should also start at the white house.
